Independent Study and Mentorship Program

 

The Independent Study and Mentorship Program in Frisco ISD is a rigorous and unique elective offered to FISD students who want to research a career with the aid of professionals in various fields. In order to get accepted into the program, students must complete a detailed application process, which includes gathering teacher recommendations, writing an concise essay, and an conduct a professional interview.

 

After the arduous admissions process, the student then has the opportunity to select a field of study to research and conduct interviews with professionals from the field, as the student selects a mentor. With aid of their mentor, the student will continue their journey of learning about the field. Moreover, students will also create an original work and final product to be presented at the end of the year.
